Job 5:1-10 -
Main Text Job 5:7 Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

Job 5:1 Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?

2 For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.

3 I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.

4 His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver them. 5 Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, an

d the robber swalloweth up their substance.

6 Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;

7 Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

8 I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:

9 Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:

10 Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:

Bro Finney used these verses in Job to remind us that as sure as sparks fly up from a camp fire that we will have trouble in this life.. God rains on the just and the unjust...so we need to pray to be prepared... We need to BEG God for grace to be sweet through our troubles !!

He also pointed out that the Lord knows everything that comes our way and will use it - (Rom 8:28). We need to be careful not to dishonor Him during the trials!! Also, sparks that fly up do NOT last forever, there will be an end to our trouble..

I am sure looking forward to hearing Bro Finney tonight at Burke Co Camp Meeting - 6/17/10.. It will be his last message there, Bro Tony Land will be preaching Friday - Sunday nights 6/18-20/10. Come be with us to hear what thus saith the Lord !!

Isaiah 1:2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

5 Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.

9 Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

Oh my, how Bro Finney preached this passage from Isaiah comparing God's warning to Israel with America today.. How America has offended God and rebelled against Him! God is trying to remind us He is in control and is sending judgement to the USA - in many different forms.. Very sobering and true but thank GOD, He still has a "remnant" of saved, born again Christians..

Last year at our Burke County Camp Meeting, I started to blog about each service..... "started" being the key word ! Unfortunately, I didn't get much further than a few notes.. It had not even crossed my mind again until after last night's service.. that being the third night. So here goes,

6/14/10 Monday night - Bro Tony Finney - Pastor of First Baptist Church in Consetee, SC

Psalms 103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

A wonderful message about how we fail so miserably at praising and blessing the Lord the way we should !! Bro Finney said that the psalmist - David kept having to remind his soul to do it.. so Lord please help remind us to praise YOU !!

36 Ways A Christian Can Reduce Stress

I received an email forwarded to me recently by Shannon & Angela - With our busy schedules it's difficult to read all the great things that come our way but this one is certainly worth reading, printing, posting and DOING every day!! I HOPE that we can all be inspired. It's A Heavenly Thing !! Thanks Ladies !

CHRISTIAN WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS

Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice.

1. Pray

2. Go to bed on time.

3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.

4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health

5. Delegate tasks to capable others.

6. Simplify and unclutter your life.

7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)

8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.

9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.

10. Take one day at a time.

11. Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety . If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.

12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.

13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.

14 K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.

15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.

16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.

17. Get enough rest.

18. Eat right.

19. Get organized so everything has its place.

20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.

21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.

22. Every day, find time to be alone.

23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.

24. Make friends with Godly peop le.

25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.

26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good "Thank you Jesus."

27. Laugh.

28. Laugh some more!

29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.

30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).

31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).

32. Sit on your ego.

33. Talk less; listen more.

34 Slow down.

35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.

36 Every night before bed, think of one thing you 're gr ateful for that you've never been grateful for before. GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU. "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)
